Tanner Simkins joins the faculty at the University of Miami School of Education & Human Development after more than 15 years in the sports and entertainment industry, most of it as a consultant advising athletes, brands, and properties on more than $100 million in deals. Simkins returns to his alma mater, where he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in finance and sports administration. He holds a master’s degree from Columbia University and is completing his PhD at Florida Atlantic University. Simkins researches strategy, ethics, and disruptive innovation, with particular interest in youth sports, women’s sports, and emerging frontiers of sports and entertainment. He is a proud family man, married to Caitlin and father to three daughters, Sienna, Stella, and Sloane.
