The Boston New Music Initiative selected Dr. Lansing McLoskey's chamber work "Yellow" from over 400 submissions for performance on November 15, 2010. One of the other works on the program was by Frost alumnus Peter Van Zandt Lane, a former student of McLoskey's who is currently the managing director of the Dinosaur Annex Ensemble.

McLoskey also recently received a Barlow Commission for a concerto for brass quintet and wind ensemble, which will soon be performed by Triton Brass and a consortium of wind ensembles (including Boston Conservatory, MIT, and the Frost School of Music). His song cycle "Sudden Music" was the winner of the 2010 American Composers Forum/LA Composers Competition, and will be performed in Los Angeles in December. It was also performed by Utah Lyric Opera and was the title piece for the 2010 Sudden Music Festival, a contemporary music festival in New York.
