Jon Secada interviewed on Brazilian television show at University of Miami Frost School of Music

Frost alumnus Jon Secada is interviewed on the University of Miami campus by Brazilian TV host Angelica Huck for an entertainment segment about his life and music career.
Jon Secada (B.M. ’83, M.M. ’86) was interviewed by Brazilian television host Angelica Huck on November 22, 2010 for a segment that focused on his career longevity and his appreciation for the depth of musical training he received at the University of Miami Frost School of Music.

Secada is a multi-Grammy-winning vocalist, inspiring performer, songwriter, producer, actor, and former host of Latin American Idol. Among many community service and charitable endeavors, he created the Jon Secada Music Scholarship at the University of Miami. He is the recipient of the 2009 Frost Achievement Award.

The television segment features a walk-through of Jon Secada's home and concludes on the campus of the University Miami. Secada welcomes the crew into one of the Frost School's rehearsal rooms, Foster 239, where Jon recalls spending countless hours rehearsing as a student with jazz vocal faculty, Larry Lapin. Students from the Frost Vocal Jazz Ensemble 1 perform with Secada at the end of the interview.
