West Point Band Staff Sgt. Brandie Lane received a Grammy award for Best Engineered Album - Classical for the album Quincy Porter: Complete Viola Works, which had also been nominated in two performance categories, Best Instrumental Soloist(s) Performance (with Orchestra) and Best Chamber Music Performance.

Staff Sgt. Lane is an alumna of the Music Engineering Technology program at the University of Miami Frost School of Music (B.S., '06). She accepted the award at the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards held at Staples Center on February 13, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

She also has engineering credits on Sarah Schuster Ericsson: 20th Century Harp Sonatas, which had been nominated in the Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without Orchestra) category.

Staff Sgt. Lane was previously the head audio engineer at Virginia-based record label Sono Luminus prior to joining the Army in July 2010.
