Outstanding Graduate Students Named for Frost Class of 2015

Two graduate students Oleksii Ivanchenko and Jay Coggin were named the 2015 Frost School of Music Outstanding Graduate Students by University of Miami Frost School of Music.
Oleksii Ivanchenko and Jay Coggin, two graduate students majoring in keyboard performance and music engineering technology, respectively, were named the 2015 Frost School of Music Outstanding Graduate Students in recognition of their academic achievement and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Outstanding Doctoral Student:
Oleksii Ivanchenko, D.M.A., Keyboard Performance and Pedagogy
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Oleskii Ivanchenko studied with Santiago Rodriguez while a doctoral candidate at the Frost School of Music, where he was also a teaching assistant. He received his B.M. and M.M. in piano performance from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. Ivanchenko has won numerous awards and competitions including both the Rowan University Concerto Competition, which he won twice, and the Frost School of Music Concerto Competition. He was the 1st Prize winner of the 2009 International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington, DC and 2nd Prize winner in the 2009 MTNA National Competition. He is a laureate of the Herberger Bosendorfer International Piano Competition and the Unisa International Competition.

Outstanding Master's Student:
Jay Coggin, M.S., Music Engineering Technology
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Jay Coggin works for The Audio Group at Apple, Inc. in Mountainview, California and completed his master's degree at the University of Miami Frost School of Music in May, 2015.
