Coral Gables, Fla. (September 27, 2017) — Shelton G. Berg, Dean of the highly-acclaimed Phillip and Patricia Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, proudly announces the school’s newly designed website. The new www.frost.miami.edu is packed with videos, photography and information that shows the incredible explosion of music and innovative education that is taking place at the Frost School of Music. The website’s high impact, mobile friendly features offer a multi-tiered, easy to navigate experience, providing prospective and current students, parents, and donors, an exciting and accessible way to interact with the Frost School’s innovative programs and event offerings.

“It is hard to capture the dynamism, excellence, and breadth that is the Frost School of Music,” says Berg. “Our new website does a great job of getting as close as you can to that goal. It is visually appealing, intuitive, and packed with information.”

Through the user-friendly website, visitors can get to know Frost’s world-class professors, discover a multitude of programs, explore what makes Frost so unique, see and hear Frost ensembles and student videos, learn about Frost’s community outreach programs, purchase concert tickets to Frost Music Live!, and watch exciting year-round performances streamed live on the school’s Frost School of Music YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBHV07hj5IkmAgWI9ghL1gg.

“We are thrilled with the new format and feel positive about the impact it’s going to have on streamlining the admission process,” says Karen Kerr, Frost Director of Admissions and Recruitment. “Prospective students have more information at their fingertips, including audition requirements and scholarship opportunities - all the information they need outlined in easy to understand steps, bullet points, and accessible links. It’s a great new tool for making things as easy as possible, from being visually attractive, quick and concise, to navigation friendly.”

Frost Professor Robert Carnochan, Director of Wind Ensemble Activities and Chair of Instrumental Performance, feels the benefits of the new website are threefold. “The recruiting piece of the puzzle is huge,” he begins, “but even more importantly, our new digital site is designed to look great and operate efficiently on all devices; desktop, laptop, iPad, and iPhone. It has descriptive, captivating pictures with short blasts of text, while links answer more detailed questions."

He adds that each department has direct access to their own landing page for spotlighting faculty, students, and events, with content linked to video and social media sites for viewing at the click of a button. “The website is a vehicle to promote who we are and what we do, to interact with current and prospective students, to archive past events, and bring greater attention to the school’s outstanding concert performances.”
