The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami is pleased to announce Dania E. Gorriz has assumed the position of Executive Director for Major Gifts, effective June 2019. Gorriz is responsible for the implementation of all fundraising strategies, focusing on major and planned gifts.

Gorriz has more than 17 years of experience in fundraising and 15 years of management experience. She served as vice president of endowments and major gifts at United Way of Miami-Dade. In her collective years in fundraising, Gorriz grew and developed planned giving and delivered $187 million from major gifts. Gorriz earned her MBA from the University of Miami (2001) and her BA from The College of William & Mary.

Gorriz stated: "I am thrilled to be part of the Frost School of Music and return to the UM family where I earned my MBA.  The FSOM is one of the most prestigious music institutions in the world and I am so proud to represent this fundraising effort on its behalf."

Dania Gorriz has also served on the boards of Philanthropy Miami and United Way Worldwide’s Major and Planned Giving Council. She lives in Miami with her husband, Ignacio, and son, Javier.
