Each year in this special issue Billboard profiles the leading academic programs for students preparing to pursue a career in the music industry.
For 2020, the school’s innovative MBEI program was acknowledged as the "first to host a meeting of the Digital Data Exchange Licensing Working Group last October, allowing students the opportunity to ask mechanical-licensing questions of the executives representing 15 companies and organizations." The article also mentioned how students enrolled in the music marketing course in the program carried out a digital marketing plan over a full semester, running campaigns on online platforms such as Google Adwords to monitor their performance.
“We are honored to be named, for the seventh consecutive time, to the Billboard Top Music Business Schools list,” states Serona Elton, Professor, Associate Dean of Administration, and Director of the Music Business & Entertainment Industries Program.  “Billboard continues to be, and always has been, the leading source of reliable information about the music business. For them to recognize us in this way reflects the outstanding education and experiences we are providing to our students.”
