Trumpet Professor Brian Lynch Nominated For Two 2020 Jazz Journalist Association Awards

It’s been a banner award year for esteemed Professor of Jazz Trumpet Brian Lynch!

"Professor Lynch shares his ample knowledge and experience of life and music with our School every day!" states John Daversa, Chair, Associate Professor of Studio Music and Jazz. "It brings us great joy to see the rest of the world recognizing his artistry with such prestigious nominations. Bravo Brian!”

The prestigious award is presented by The Jazz Journalists Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the best use of media of all kinds —new and old, online and off—to tell the story of jazz and develop new jazz audiences. The awards honoring excellence in jazz music, recordings, presentation, and journalism were initiated in 1997. Nominees are chosen by the votes of the Professional Journalist Members of the Jazz Journalists Association and were made on the basis of work done in the calendar year 2019.

Winners of the 2020 JJA Jazz Awards in all categories will be determined by the votes of JJA Professional Journalist Members; and will be announced in mid-May.
