We proudly announce the 2024 issue of Score, our annual magazine showcasing the accomplishments of students, faculty, alumni, donors and guest artists at the Frost School of Music. From culture-shifting collaborations with pop stars to cutting edge technological experiments, this year's issue of Score, "Shaping the Future of Music," illuminates how the Frost School continues to advance musical excellence and exploration.
Our cover story on the Knight Center for Innovation celebrates a transformative milestone for the Frost School, the long-awaited opening of this $36.5 million venue and its two state-of-the art performance spaces, providing a host of new creative and technological possibilities.
More and more, the Frost School’s excellence is being seen on the largest cultural and media platforms. Triple alumnus Carlos Lopez organized and led an orchestra filled with current and former Frost students on the national tour of urban music superstar Bad Bunny. The Frost School made its big screen debut with an appearance in the hit movie “Mean Girls,” thrilling students and introducing us to millions via this beloved cultural franchise. PBS stations across the U.S. will air Maestro Gerard Schwarz and Lowe Art Museum director Jill Deupi’s innovative music/multi-media production “Pictures at an Exhibition.”
Brilliant young jazz pianist and new Frost Master’s degree holder Connor Rohrer was honored at one of the world’s most prestigious jazz competitions and toured with bright new Grammy-winning singer Samara Joy. Broadway legend Kristin Chenoweth inspired vocal students in a masterclass. Generous new gifts from faculty, alumni and longtime donors will foster future generations of talent. The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard and Downbeat magazines praised Frost programs and artists as among the best in the country.
