Miami Law’s new podcast, the “Miami Law Explainer,” has just finished its first season with 15 episodes. Already featured in The National Jurist and The Miami Hurricane, this weekly podcast hosts Miami Law faculty and clinician experts who examine and explain the latest in law, one headline at a time.
As the brainchild of Miami Law’s Director of Media Relations and Public Affairs, Catharine Skipp comments, "The Explainer was a germ of an idea aimed at garnering notice by reporters of the kind of talent we house at Miami Law…hundreds of downloads later, I'm utterly gobsmacked by the razor-sharp legal minds who have generously graced our studio."
A Variety of Listening Platforms
Launched in June 2018, The Miami Law Explainer initially was only on two channels but is now available on various including: SoundCloud, iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, PlayerFM, and YouTube.
Episodes 1-15 from Season 1
In season one, the Explainer’s experts took on a range of timely topics from how bankruptcy filings changed the Weinstein victims’ claims to the indictment of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes to the UN climate change report. Episodes from Season One included:

Season Two: Coming Mid-January 2019
Next season, more legal issues await listeners with results of the midterms playing out, Supreme Court decisions, and everything else above the fold. In addition, Season 2 will launch with new music by Ray Dohyoung Kim from UM’s Frost School of Music.
