Tina Portuondo Inducted into the NAEPC Estate Planning Hall of Fame
The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils recently inducted Tina Portuondo, director of the Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning and director of the Heckerling Graduate Program in Estate Planning, into the Estate Planning Hall of Fame. This prestigious award is given annually in recognition of lifetime achievement and outstanding contributions to the practice and profession of estate planning.
Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law LL.M.
EASL J.D./LL.M. Student Wins the BESLA Law School Essay Competition
The Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyer’s Association choose Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law joint degree student Dominique Davillier as the winner of their scholarship essay competition. A native of New Orleans, Davillier has always been surrounded by Black art and culture, which influenced her essay “Making Revolution Irresistible: Protecting Black Art.” The winning essay analyzed the use of rap lyrics as evidence.

Pre-Law Magazine Awards an A- to Miami Law’s Real Estate Law Program
Miami Law offers a robust curriculum in real estate taught by faculty recognized as leaders in a field that covers land use, housing, and commercial real estate, as well as the environmental and tax implications. Students begin by gaining a fundamental understanding of property development and investment, then specialize by pursuing courses in the top-ranked Real Property Development LL.M. program.
International Arbitration LL.M.
Lawyer from the Republic of Georgia is Named the 2022-2023 Young ICCA Scholar

Miami Law Teams Win First and Second Place in the ABA Tax Section’s Law Student Tax Challenge
Miami Law's tax teams recently placed first and second in their divisions in the American Bar Association Tax Section's Law Student Tax Challenge, a national competition held in San Diego. The Tax LL.M. team, consisting of Margo Bahno and Andrii Buznytskyi, won first place, and the J.D. team of Ivan Rudd and Isaac Fuhrman Borgman came in second place and won the award for Best Written submission in their division.
