The University of Miami School of Law's acclaimed podcast, the Miami Law Explainer, has premiered its 15th season, which marks the release of its 186th episode. Since its launch in 2018, the podcast has accumulated over 59,500 downloads and has been recognized with a bronze Circle of Excellence Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

The new season will dive into into a range of contemporary legal issues, including the expanding use of artificial intelligence, constitutional questions, and the mainstreaming of alternative investments.

The season premiere features legal writing professor Christina Frohock, who discusses the impact of AI on court filings and the alarming frequency of "hallucinations"—false or misleading information generated by AI—in legal writing.

Later in the season, Professor Frances Hill will be featured, offering insights into French economist Thomas Piketty’s work on economic disparity and the concept of a common currency.

The Miami Law Explainer serves as a significant educational resource, breaking down everything from the basics of the legal system to complex legal and business topics for a global audience that includes listeners in Japan and Germany.

Executive producer Catharine Skipp attributes the podcast's success to its dedicated team, including host Annette Hugues and engineer Christopher Alzati, as well as the expert faculty at the School of Law. The show's production is further enhanced by musical contributions from Ray D. Kim and graphic design by Elizabeth Estefan.
