The University Libraries are pleased to welcome Robin Potter Nolasco as Special Collections librarian and public services coordinator for the Kislak Center at the University of Miami, effective May 8, 2023. Robin’s primary responsibilities include management of the Kislak Center’s Reading Room, teaching and outreach to students, faculty, and Special Collections researchers, and membership in committees and other professional groups. She has an extensive creative background and acts as an ambassador for Special Collections in the South Florida arts community.
Since becoming a librarian in 2012, Robin has held roles as a reference and instruction librarian and subject liaison in a variety of higher education institutions, including Brooklyn College, The University of New Mexico, and most recently, Hampshire College in western Massachusetts. She is originally from Kansas City, Missouri, and lived in New York City for many years, where she completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at The Cooper Union School of Art, with informal concentrations in photography and drawing. She earned a Master of Library Science and Information degree from Queens College, City University of New York, with a specialization in archives and preservation of cultural heritage materials.
