The University Libraries are pleased to welcome Jordan Jedry as visiting Purdy project archivist for the Manuscripts and Archives Management department, effective April 17, 2023. In this role, Jordan oversees the daily activities of the processing of the Florida archival collections, including the arrangement and description of these materials in all formats. They also help to ensure the creation and online publication of finding aids and other access tools related to the Florida collections.

During their graduate studies, Jordan worked at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) as an archives assistant, where they took on arrangement and description responsibilities for several archival collections housed at the largest health sciences repository in the Pacific Northwest. While at OHSU, Jordan co-curated the exhibition, “Treat Local: The Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland, 1884–2020.”

Jordan completed their Master of Library Science, with a concentration in archive studies, at Emporia State University in Kansas in 2022. They earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a minor in French language and culture, from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, in 2017.
