The University of Miami Libraries are pleased to announce the appointment of Valeria Salgado as librarian for archives and reading room services at the Architecture Research Center in the School of Architecture, effective July 10, 2026. In this position, Valeria oversees the Paul Buisson Architecture Library, which supports the research and information needs of the School of Architecture at the undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, and post-professional levels.

Valeria brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as circulation supervisor for the Otto G. Richter Library. She gained valuable archival experience through an internship as a processing archivist at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and a role as an archives technician at the University Libraries Cuban Heritage Collection.

Valeria holds a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of South Florida School of Information, where she focused her studies on archives management, web archiving, and digital curation. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in music, cum laude, from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.
