McGhee Named Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

Associate dean is among 231 new fellows to be inducted in October
McGhee Named Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) congratulates Stephen McGhee, DNP, MSc, PGCE, RNT, RN, associate professor of Clinical and associate dean for Nursing Undergraduate Programs, on being selected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). The American Academy of Nursing announced its 2019 class of “231 highly distinguished nurse leaders” on June 18.

The induction for new fellows will take place at the Academy’s annual policy conference in Washington, D.C., in October. The Academy is currently comprised of over 2,600 nurse leaders in education, management, practice, policy, and research recognized for extraordinary commitment to promoting the public’s health through evidence and innovation. Induction into the Academy is considered one of the nursing profession’s highest honors.

Dr. McGhee joined UM’s School of Nursing and Health Studies in May from the University of South Florida College of Nursing, where he was assistant dean for undergraduate and global programs, assistant professor, Coverdell Fellow Supervisor, and director of Global Affairs.
