Dr. Frank Guido-Sanz, associate dean for Simulation Education and Research and professor of clinical at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies and S.H.A.R.E. Simulation Hospital Advancing Research & Education®, was one of just two individuals elected to the Nominations and Elections Committee for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL). INACSL has over 3,000 members worldwide and is dedicated to advancing the science of healthcare simulation. All active voting members elect this position, and candidates for election are selected after a series of interviews and screenings by the designated committee. The final candidates are included on the ballot, and only two positions are available.
According to the committee’s chair, Chelsea Lebo, M.S.N., RN, Dr. Guido-Sanz’s term will begin at the close of the INACSL25 Conference in Denver, Colorado, taking place June 19-22, and will run for a total of two years. INACSL’s next election cycle begins in August.
The Nominations and Elections Committee, INACLS bylaws state, is responsible for annually soliciting names of members interested in running for any office through a virtual nomination process established by the Board of Directors. The committee prepares a slate of candidates for each elective office, presents the slate to the Board of Directors for approval, and coordinates the virtual election.
