Samuel Skidmore received his Ph.D. in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Utah State University. Dr. Skidmore’s primary program of research emphasizes social justice, relational well-being, and uplifting community mental health. He approaches research endeavors through an intersectional lens to examine the mental health needs and strengths of minoritized populations, focusing primarily on LGBTQ+ individuals. His clinical work emphasizes uplifting and empowering individuals, primarily by effectively navigating relationships and building a sense of belonging and contribution. At the University of Miami, he actively engages in teaching and mentoring to train students in multiculturally competent clinical work and ethically sound research endeavors that serve communities.
