The School of Education and Human Development (SEHD) is proud to spotlight the transformative work of undergraduate student leaders who are redefining the intersection of data science and social responsibility. Through the Data Analytics and Intelligence for Social Impact (DAISI) program, these student leaders are driving initiatives designed to improve access to technical skills and promote the ethical application of computational, quantitative, and qualitative analysis within the university community.
Pioneering Peer Mentoring in Data Literacy
Athena is broadening the scope of student-led peer mentoring in data literacy. Her efforts focus on community accessibility through the development of online learning modules. She successfully created a comprehensive, asynchronous resource that allows all undergraduate students to master foundational R and Excel programming skills on demand.
Developing advanced modules for applied computational and quantitative analysis using R and Python.
Ensuring the next generation of professionals across all disciplines is equipped with the tools to innovate responsibly.
