The University Libraries are pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Cohen as research impact librarian for the unit of Research Analytics & Impact Services within the department of Research Data & Open Scholarship, effective October 16, 2023. In this role, Jason connects with researchers throughout the University to provide opportunities to showcase their work and engage in interdisciplinary collaboration. He also assists faculty and staff in understanding their impact at the University, within the academic community, and globally. Working with colleagues at the Libraries, he provides additional support to increase the open access research resources available to the University community.
Jason most recently served as the digital publishing specialist for the University Libraries, where, among other responsibilities, he provided ongoing management of the institutional repository, publishing platform, and other related infrastructure. As a member of the Esploro Implementation Team, he helped to develop the University’s research information platform, which provides citations of research output and researcher data to the People Directory. He also served as the primary contact for The Graduate School’s Electronic Thesis and Dissertation (ETD) program. He began with the Libraries in 2005, serving in a variety of roles that provided him with a wealth of experience in library operations.
Jason holds a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
