The University Libraries are pleased to announce the appointment of Nicolas “Nick” Aponte as emerging technologies librarian for the Creative Studio at the Marta and Austin Weeks Music Library and Technology Center, effective January 19, 2023. Nick has served as music production specialist at the Creative Studio since 2021.

In this new role, Nick manages outreach efforts and supports the learning and research needs of the Frost School of Music, as well as provides instruction and programming assistance related to music and technology. Collaborating with faculty and staff at the Weeks Music Library, his focus is on emerging technology trends research and best practices for electronic resources and tools, new media, instructional technologies, and related pedagogies in music. He also manages the Weeks Library’s Creative Studio and its student employees.

With a Master of Arts in music education from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in electronic production and design from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Nick brings to this position relevant education and expertise in the fields of music and audio technology. He is an experienced commercial composer, producing original music in various genres for several nationally and internationally recognized projects and advertisements.
