Participate in Denim Day, raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. 
Wednesday, April 24, 11 a.m.
Join the University community in solidarity with survivors and help raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Hosted by the Dean of Students Office, It’s On Us student organization, and the Title IX office, Denim Day commemorates a significant moment in history when women in the Italian Parliament wore denim to support a victim of sexual assault. Today, people worldwide wear denim on the last Wednesday in April to challenge harmful behaviors surrounding sexual violence. Dress in denim and join fellow ’Canes at the U statue on the Coral Gables Campus at 11 a.m. for a group photo. Learn more.

On April 22, stop by the Earth Day fair on the Lakeside Patio on the Coral Gables Campus to connect with students, faculty and staff members, vendors, and community partners. Reflect on our interdependent relationship with the natural world and engage in dialogue with the earth to tap into grief’s wisdom and become true, resilient allies. On April 24, join a mindfulness program offered by the University Libraries; select the April 24 session to register. Mindfulness programs are offered virtually at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and in person at 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays at the Otto G. Richter Library throughout the semester. ‘Urinetown, The musical’

Join a revolt in a dystopian future where water is worth its weight in gold, and one of the most basic human needs is under the control of an evil bureaucracy. Wickedly witty, this Tony Award-winning musical satire pokes fun at politics, social irresponsibility, capitalism, and musical theater itself. University students and staff and faculty members can use code THSUTOWN before selecting their seats to receive a discount. Learn grounding techniques for managing stress and anxiety.
Tuesday, April 30, noon and 4 p.m.
Grounding techniques can help you feel safe and assist you to regain control over your emotions when feeling distressed, triggered, or overwhelmed. Hosted by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, webinar participants will be led through a guided meditation. Register for the session at noon or 4 p.m.

This year's Faculty and Staff Long Service Award Ceremony recognizes 316 University faculty and staff members who have reached a long service milestone of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 55 years between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024.
