With nearly 4,400 students crossing the stage throughout seven ceremonies, the University of Miami’s spring commencement celebrated the achievements and hard work of our students and their families. View the sights and sounds from the events.

If you’re dining on the Coral Gables Campus, be sure to check the UM Dining site, where hours of operation are always listed. During summer, there are closures and shortened hours at many of the retail spots and residential dining halls.

Watch classic and modern films at the Bill Cosford Cinema. 
Sundays at 1 p.m., June 2 through Aug. 11.
Selected films will explore different facets of culture, race, humor, history, and the art of filmmaking. Tickets are $5 per screening. University students can use the code UMSTUDENT at checkout and present a valid CaneID at the door to gain free admission to each screening. View the calendar and purchase tickets

Prep for hurricane season, take advantage of a sales tax holiday.
June 1-14, 2024
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through Nov. 30. Save money while getting ready by taking advantage of the Florida tax holiday program. The Disaster Preparedness 2024 Sales Tax Holiday runs June 1-14 and Aug. 24-Sept. 6. Learn more ways to prepare for hurricane season, including how to create a personal preparedness plan.
