New President

UM alumna Ana Mari Cauce has been named president of the University of Washington.

Ana Mari CauceAna Mari Cauce, A.B. ’77, Hon. ’15, who previously served as interim president, and provost and executive VP of the University of Washington, has been named president of the institution.

“President Cauce has proven over the past seven months serving in an interim capacity to be an extraordinary leader," said Board of Regents Chair Bill Ayer. "Her dedication to the UW is unparalleled."

Cauce, who was born in Havana, Cuba, was named provost in 2012, and for the past seven months has served as interim president.
