Released December 2017 - As previously announced (below), UMIT has completed testing of High Sierra, the new version of Mac’s operating system (macOS). High Sierra is now compatible with McAfee products, including anti-virus and encryption software.
Before updating your Apple computer to High Sierra, please follow the recommended verification steps below:
- Verify that your McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac Threat Protection software is at version 10.2.3 or higher
- To verify, click the McAfee shield in the top-right of your Apple computers menu bar
- Click About...
- The software version number is listed under Threat Prevention

- Verify that your McAfee Agent is at version 5.0.6 or higher
- To verify, click the McAfee shield in the top-right of your Apple computers menu bar
- Click McAfee Agent Status Monitor...
- The agent version number is listed below the "Close" button
