SCC Event Management System Launch
Are you hosting an event in the Student Center Complex or interested in reserving a space? The new way for faculty, staff, and students to make reservations and plan events at the Student Center Complex has arrived. UM United Way Campaign Kickoff 
For nearly 40 years, UM and United Way have partnered to raise money to support the Miami-Dade community and this year is no different! Under the leadership of Jacqueline Travisano, Executive Vice President for Business and Finance and Chief Operating Officer, and Edward Abraham, Executive Vice President for Health Affairs and Chief Operating Officer of UHealth, the 2018 United Way campaign begins on September 4 and runs through December 31. Visit unitedway.miami.edu for more information about the campaign and instructions on how you can contribute!

Frost Music Live!
UM’s Frost School of Music kicks off the signature live music series on Friday, Sept. 7, with BATTLEGROUND—Music Performed Live to Screen on Stage, held at UM’s Gusman Hall. Details on discounted rates and opportunities for free tickets can be found on News@TheU’s coverage, Season of Music.

The Word on Workday
Workday is getting a few changes that will make everyone’s life a little easier. Expect to have 24/7 Workday access and enhanced features by downloading the new mobile app. Best new feature? Users can now upload receipts by using the camera on their mobile device and attach to an expense report. Book Talks
In between research and lectures, faculty members from various disciplines share their authored publications during Book Talks, a series hosted by UM’s Center for the Humanities. On Sept. 5, Martin Nesvig, associate professor in the Department of History, kicksoff the series at Books and Books, Coral Gables to discuss his book Promiscuous Power: An Unorthodox History of New Spain.
