Homecoming isn’t just for students and alumni. Employees have a strong sense of pride in the U and homecoming is a great opportunity to share that pride with fellow colleagues and the UM community. This year UM faculty and staff are invited to join in the festivities and check out some of the new events created just for them.
"As a big fan of my own university’s homecoming festivities, I always wondered if there was a place for non-UM graduates to join in the fun," said Sarah Artecona, associate vice president for community engagement at UM. "Working with Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, we organized a number of ways employees can be part of the week of activities."
Here’s a summary of can’t-miss happenings to look forward to:
- Celebrate what it means to be a Miami Hurricane. Enjoy free catered BBQ and live music to kick off the 2018 Homecoming events on Oct. 31 on the Gables campus Lakeside Patio from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Take a break and grab a bite with your work besties. Mark your calendar for free donuts that will be distributed to faculty and staff at the medical campus and Rosenstiel campus on Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
