’Cane Talks this month focused on personal health

The University of Miami’s popular ’Cane Talks series returns on Wednesday, March 20, with three presentations focused on personal health and wellness.

The 'Cane Talks series features lively 10-minute presentations by leading thinkers in the University community illuminating big questions facing the world in the next century.

The talks, which will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Newman Alumni Center, include:

Vice provost for institutional culture and professor of educational and psychological studies

The Music Mothers Make: The Importance of Singing to Infants
Shannon de l’Etoile
Associate dean of graduate studies and professor of music therapy

Professor Lifeguard: How Wellness Can Save Lives in Florida and Beyond
Wesley Smith

Clinical assistant professor and director of the graduate program in nutrition and human performance
