Jacqueline Travisano, Ed.D., executive vice president for business and finance and chief operating officer, was named a 2019 AXA Advisors Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Businesswomen of the Year—Educator Category, at a luncheon held at the Coral Gables Country Club on March 12, 2019. The AXA Advisors Businesswomen of the Year Awards honor professional women in the South Florida community who make a difference each day, achieve excellence in their profession, serve as role models and mentors, and are deeply passionate about their community.
Since arriving in South Florida in 2011, Travisano has deepened her connection to the people, lifestyle, culture, and energy of the city through her roles in higher education, philanthropy, and volunteerism.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Miami-Dade County and the Board of Directors of the Miami Dolphins Cancer Challenge. She was also recently named to the Board of Directors of AutoNation, the largest automotive retailer in the United States and number 129 on the Fortune 500 list of America’s largest corporations, where she serves as a member of two committees: Audit and Technology. She also serves the Robert Morris University School of Business Board of Visitors.
“The opportunity to be a part of the senior leadership team of the University of Miami, under the steady hand of President Julio Frenk, has been life-changing for me,” said Travisano.
“I am blessed to be a part of an incredibly special university that has risen to tremendous heights and is respected around the world. Part of that rise and reputation has been the University’s spectacular location, and I look forward to cultivating the ongoing relationship of our special communities” she said.”
