On Saturday, April 13, ’Canes around the country came together to give back in their communities for ‘Canes Day of Service. In Miami, UM faculty and staff also stepped up to the challenge and hosted the first annual service day for employees. Through a partnership with Miami-Dade County, employees and alumni from around the University joined the annual Biscayne Bay clean-up event called Baynanza, which UM’s office of government and community relations supported as a Bay Champion Sponsor.

The ’Canes clean-up crew dedicated their time to picking up trash along the shorelines near UM’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, hauling mounds of trash.

Additionally, from New York to San Francisco and everywhere in between, UM alumni volunteered at local nonprofits to lend a helping hand while sharing Hurricane pride in their hometowns.
