This month look forward to attending MyUCareer, the first conference-style career event hosted by Human Resources Talent and Organizational Development team at the Coral Gables campus. Open to all University faculty and staff members, the event will include three 30-minute workshops and additional opportunities to sign up for 15-minute one-on-one coaching sessions with recruiters and HR managers. This event is intended as an optional drop-in opportunity with a variety of activities throughout the day. Coral Gables campus road closures
As of Friday, Nov. 1
As part of the University's Lakeside Village project, there will be a series of road closures which will extend into 2020. Affected areas include the sidewalk along Eaton Hall and the Fate Bridge, which will remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020. All pedestrians will be rerouted accordingly. Parts of Merrick Drive will also be affected through Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020. The Pavia Garage will remain open and should be accessed using Levante Avenue and Pavia Street. Expert tips on parenting: Building blocks of great behavior
Tuesday, Nov. 12–Friday, Nov. 15
In this final installment of a three-part seminar series, learn evidence-based parenting strategies for improving parenting skills. Learn about five core areas of child development from UM’s Allison Weinstein, director of the behavioral pediatrics clinic at the Mailman Center for Childhood Development and assistant professor of clinical pediatrics in the division of clinical psychology. Employees can register to attend a session, which is organized by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. Cultivating connections
Thursday, Nov. 14 at 12 p.m.
Hosted by the Women’s Commission, an Employee Resource Group open to all faculty and staff, Cultivating Connections will provide tips and tricks to successful professional engagement. Learn best practice techniques for navigating social environments in professional settings, develop strategies to ensure positive encounters, and practice the art of asking open-ended questions.
