New year, new health plan and benefits reminders

New medical ID cards for Aetna members
All University of Miami employees enrolled in Aetna should have received new ID cards in the mail as of Jan. 1, 2020. If you haven’t received your new cards, contact Aetna member services at 1-800-824-6411 or log into your Aetna Navigator account to print a temporary ID card or request a replacement card.

Spend remaining FSA funds and incur claims for 2019 by March 15
During open enrollment, employees can elect to enroll in flexible spending accounts (FSAs), which become available Jan. 1 each year. Administered by WageWorks, FSAs allow you to pay certain health and dependent care expenses using pre-tax dollars. As per the University’s FSA plan, there’s a grace period to use your 2019 FSA funds between Jan. 1 and March 15, 2020. The grace period allows you to continue to incur expenses in the current year while using up any remaining balance from your prior year’s FSA.
