Using social media may leave you vulnerable

Oversharing online might make you susceptible to theft and other potentially dangerous situations.

Without realizing it, many of us may be oversharing on social media, leaving ourselves wide open to theft—both offline and online. Frequently sharing important moments of our lives by posting updates or pictures of our families, outings, and milestones, can inadvertently inform cybercriminals about ourselves and our whereabouts, potentially leading to the misuse of our personal information. 

Before you post, secure your online presence by considering a few things: Check your privacy settings and use of geolocation tags, and be sure to stay up to date with news on privacy leaks.
