Learn to manage stress
Multiple webinars available
Whether you’re working from home and battling a new set of challenges or standing on the frontlines and need help decompressing, there are resources that can help you handle these changes. Attend a webinar on Wednesday, April 8, at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about ways to alleviate the inherent stress of working remotely and find virtual self-care resources. Another  webinar on Thursday, April 9, at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. will review the symptoms associated with stress triggered by a pandemic, and it will offer helpful ways to manage stress and cope proactively. University employees can register to attend a session, which is facilitated by a Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) consultant. Employees enrolled in UM’s Well ’Canes Incentives program can earn points by attending a webinar. Connect with FSAP at 305-284-6604 or fsap.miami.edu.

Review privacy and security guidelines for telecommuting and remote operations
Available online
The Office of Privacy & Data Security compiled a guide with basic principles for data privacy related to telecommuting and communication within the University community. Federal privacy laws and regulations, such as FERPA and HIPAA, still apply during this time. Review the guide, which is intended to serve as a resource, to learn about best practices and to find links to University information. To learn more, contact the office at privacy@miami.edu.

Access the new IBISResearch system
Now available online
IBISResearch—the University’s new grants and sponsored agreements management system—provides a single portal for submission and tracking of grant applications, contracts, sponsored agreements, and award modification requests. Thanks to the efforts of the Office of Research Administration and UMIT, IBISResearch will replace the University’s InfoEd pre-award system. Beginning Monday, April 6, the research community may visit ora.miami.edu to log in to IBISResearch and access guides, job aids, and virtual drop-in labs. For training opportunities, visit ULearn and search using keyword IBIS to register.

Attend virtual mindfulness sessions with the Lowe
Every Tuesday at 1 p.m.
In an effort to stay connected to each other, the Lowe Art Museum will be sharing mindfulness sessions online, including the mindfulness practice led by Alice Lash, founder of Mindfultime, and Miami Law professor Scott Rogers, founder of the University’s Mindfulness in Law Program. There also will be mindful looking sessions, using objects from the Lowe's collection, led by Hope Torrents or Jodi Sypher from the Lowe’s education team. These 30-minute sessions hosted via Zoom will be followed by a Q&A. Access the sessions with the meeting ID 285 669 932 and password 982478.
