Book a reservation to exercise at the UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center.
Facility reopens Wednesday, Sept. 9.
University students, faculty, and staff members, along with Jackson Memorial Hospital employees, who are members of the UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center can access the facilities on the Medical Campus starting Wednesday, Sept. 9. The reopening plan will occur in phases to allow the team to assess capacity and assist members in becoming acquainted with the new policies. No guests will be permitted at this time and reservations will be required. Book a reservation online starting Monday afternoon, Sept. 7. Attend an information session to learn about programs offered through the Division of Continuing and International Education.

Explore four professional certificate programs offered by the Division of Continuing and International Education, including the professional coaching certificate on Sept. 9, at 7 p.m.; paralegal certificate on Sept. 10, at 12 p.m.; human resource management certificate on Sept. 14, at 12 p.m.; and project management professional certificate on Sept. 29, at 12 p.m. Individuals who attend an information session will receive a 10 percent tuition fee waiver for the cost of the program. Additionally, register for a webinar on Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. to learn about the relationship between allergies and COVID-19, the relationship between allergies and cardiovascular disease, and the adverse health effects of untreated or poorly controlled allergies. Attendees of the webinar will also be eligible to receive a 10 percent tuition fee waiver for the division’s allergy diagnostics and allergen immunotherapy training workshop, which is scheduled to launch in spring 2021.

Dive deep into the UM Libraries’ archives.

Take an informative, enticing, and educational look into a selection of images that are representative of materials in UM’s Special Collections. Attendees will learn more about what the team collects; how and why it does it; and get a glimpse into the fascinating world of rare books, manuscripts, and archives at the University of Miami Libraries. Using materials culled from the archives, rare books, and ephemera of Special Collections, attendees will take a look back to the early years of Miami Beach, when a motley assortment of civic boosters, con artists, and impresarios "sold some sand" to the collective imagination of travelers yearning for warm weather and fun in the sun. Participate in a Faculty Reading Group. 
Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting Sept. 15 and 16.
Mark your calendars to participate in a faculty reading group with this year’s One Book, One U selection, “So You Want to Talk About Race” by Ijeoma Oluo. Organized by the Office of Institutional Culture, Learning Innovation, and Faculty Engagement team, along with UM Libraries, this initiative allows interested instructors to explore opportunities to discuss how to incorporate the text into their classrooms. Two cohorts are tentatively scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting Sept. 15 and 16, respectively.

Attend an information session covering everything you need to know about using tuition remission benefits.
