Learn to assess and improve faculty instruction.
Tuesday, Nov. 17, and Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m.
University faculty members can attend the EdTech Café, hosted by the Division of Continuing and International Education's Distance Learning Institute, to learn how to assess and improve instruction using reactionary methods. This webinar will show instructors how to collect data during a running course, use it to improve their teaching, and enhance the instructor-student relationship. EdTech Café is an ongoing series that provides online course development to help University faculty members transition to a successful online learning model. Attend the next Faculty Senate meeting. 
Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m.
All University faculty members are invited to attend the meeting this week. It will be held virtually. Visit fs.miami.edu to learn more about the senate, its representatives, and meeting information. Explore a guide to help faculty navigate the semester.

Participate in online diversity and inclusion training sessions.
Complete by Thursday, Dec. 31.
As part of the initiatives outlined by President Frenk this summer in our pursuit of racial justice, University faculty and staff members are invited to participate in two diversity and inclusion training opportunities, including “Managing Bias” and “Diversity: Inclusion in the Modern Workplace,” which are designed to help participants understand various issues that impact diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Login to ULearn to register for a session. All staff members are expected to participate in this virtual learning experience by the end of the calendar year. Those who complete the online training will be eligible to participate in additional facilitated sessions on the topic of diversity as they are developed. Learn more.

Complete a virtual 5K walk or run. 
Multiple dates.
Lace up those sneakers, hop on the treadmill, or head outside. Join coordinator Lindsey Sastre from the UHealth Fitness and Wellness Center for a weekly, virtual 5K. Participants can register to walk or run a 40-minute event every Monday at 12:15 p.m. and have the opportunity to dedicate a race to someone affected by COVID-19. November marks the start of prospective student-athletes making initial commitments to collegiate athletic programs in the U.S. The culmination of the recruiting process takes place when a prospect signs the National Letter of Intent with their chosen institution.
