TeamUM United Way campaign provides aid to the needy

Prior to COVID-19, five out of 10 households in Miami-Dade County were living in, or were just one emergency away from, poverty. The pandemic has exacerbated this already challenging situation.

The United Way of Miami-Dade is working closely with the county to address short-term economic hardship through financial assistance for basic living expenses, such as food, utilities, childcare, medical expenses, and rental assistance, among others.

Consider making a gift today. For every unrestricted $1 you give, the United Way doubles its impact by supporting nearly 100 innovative programs and initiatives focused on education, financial stability, and health—the building blocks for a good life.

You can also direct your gift to a local nonprofit organization, including the University of Miami. If you have a local nonprofit in mind, check the drop-down menu on the giving page to see if it is listed or request that it be added.

University faculty and staff members who contribute one percent of their annual salary may be eligible for additional benefits when supporting the United Way at the leadership level.
