Register to volunteer for ’Cane Kickoff 2021

Faculty and staff members are invited to volunteer for ’Cane Kickoff 2021— the University of Miami’s undergraduate student orientation program. Faculty and staff volunteers will manage the Welcome Stations on the Coral Gables Campus starting on Monday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 18.  This year’s entering class is among the University’s largest and most distinguished. Orientation volunteers will strive to make their first impression positive and lasting. Learn more about how you can be a part of the ’Cane Kickoff tradition.

Who: Faculty and staff members, with supervisor approval.

What: Volunteers are needed on the Coral Gables Campus to manage covered information stations and answer questions from new students and their families while they navigate orientation events.

When: Volunteer shifts are available in 1½ -hour blocks between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Monday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 18.

Additional Details: Supervisor approval is required to participate. All volunteers will be asked to indicate their availability and provide the name of their supervisor. A confirmation email will be sent to both the volunteer and supervisor. All health and safety COVID-19 protocols will be followed. A virtual training session will take place Tuesday, August 10, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. via Zoom.
