A nurse at the University for more than three decades, Doreen Ashley, executive director of nursing at UHealth, is among the hundreds of front-line workers who have adapted to challenges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In the first of a new video series recognizing the University's unsung heroes, she shares her story.

With the support of her team, Doreen Ashley, executive director of nursing at UHealth, worked tirelessly to help create a second hospital within the UHealth Tower for COVID-19. She faced challenges that could not have been predicted in her 30-year career, and nearly 20 months into the pandemic, she continues leading her team to serve the South Florida community.

Watch a video to hear Ashley share her story and her experiences as a University employee.

This video was shared with the University community during the 2021 State of the University Town Hall on Sept. 28. Access more videos online.
