University launches authentication changes to protect the community.
Effective today.
Because of an increasing number of cybercriminals targeting universities and health care organizations by attempting to send fraudulent Duo multifactor authentication (MFA) requests, University of Miami community members now have two options to authenticate via Duo. Members can now choose to generate a passcode via the Duo mobile app or have Duo text a batch of passcodes to their mobile phone. Review the Duo MFA service page to learn more about using these access methods. For questions or technical support, the Coral Gables and Marine campuses can contact the UMIT Service Desk at help@miami.edu or 305-284-6565; the Medical Campus can contact UHealth IT at help@med.miami.edu or 305-243-5999.
