Get tips for successful TALK conversations

The University’s performance management program, TALK for Success, is currently underway. TALK, which stands for transform, align, listen, and know, is the framework that employees and managers use during their performance conversations.

Now that we are nearing the end of the FY22 TALK process, below are some key reminders about the process and resources, which vary by campus.

Key reminders.

  • TALK evaluations must be completed by
    • Friday, May 6, for Medical campus employees.
    • Friday, May 13, for employees of the Coral Gables and Marine campuses.
  • TALK evaluations should only consider an employee’s performance during the review period, from June 1, 2021, to May 2022, not prior years.
  • Employees and managers should prepare for TALK discussions by gathering details related to key achievements or areas of opportunity during the review period.
  • In FY22, there will be no merit-lump sum awards for this year’s performance management cycle. All merit increases will be applied to an employee’s base pay even if they are at or above their pay range maximum.
  • Merit awards will be based on an employee’s final TALK performance rating. The goal is to pay for performance and reward the highest performers with the highest merit increases.
