Faculty and staff celebrated during Homecoming events

To celebrate their hard work and dedication, the University will shine a light on faculty and staff members through employee appreciation events. Sponsored by the Office of Government and Community Relations and Human Resources, employees can take a break and enjoy sweet treats and giveaways on all three campuses during Homecoming Week.

Starting Monday, Oct. 31, employees can present their ’Cane ID to obtain vouchers worth $5 to redeem at the food trucks on Friday, Nov. 4. Each employee, including remote faculty and staff members, is eligible to receive one voucher—available first come, first served. The following list outlines more details about this year’s employee appreciation activities.

Coral Gables Campus | Monday, Oct. 31, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Shalala Student Center Lakeside Patio
Faculty and staff members, including remote employees, are invited to come celebrate with the University community during the Homecoming opening ceremony and ’Canes Spirit Day. Attendees can enjoy free sweet treats, live music, and festivities.

Medical Campus | Wednesday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Louis Calder Memorial Library | 1601 NW 10th Ave, Miami, FL 33136 
Faculty and staff members—including remote workers—are invited to stop by the parking lot by Calder Medical Library to claim a voucher worth $5. They will be available on a first come, first served basis. The vouchers can be redeemed the same day at food trucks that will be parked at the library parking lot. Don’t forget to bring your ’Cane ID.

Marine Campus | Friday, Nov. 4, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.

The teams will distribute one boxed bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes to faculty and staff members, including remote workers.

All University employees are invited to attend the Homecoming celebrations on Friday, Nov. 4, on the Coral Gables Campus from 5–10 p.m. Enjoy treats from food trucks on Stanford Circle, then head to Lake Osceola to view the boat burning and fireworks show.
