An alumnus of the University of Miami and current staff member, Adrian Nuñez, associate director of government relations for the Office of Government and Community Relations, has a deep-rooted connection to giving back to the Miami community. As the co-chair for United Way Miami’s Lead Impact Network Change (LINC)—a Giving Community for individuals 30-years-old and younger—he encourages his colleagues to connect with United Way in different ways by using their knowledge and skill set to build a stronger Miami.
“I joined LINC and United Way Miami to give back to a city that has given me everything,” Nuñez pointed out. “Whether it’s spending time at a service project or networking with like-minded professionals, United Way’s Giving Communities provide opportunities to grow personal and professional connections.”
In addition to LINC, United Way Miami supports five other Giving Communities: Young Leaders, Women United, Men United, Tocqueville Society, and Small Business United.
"Over the past four years, my involvement with LINC has empowered me to expand my impact and involvement throughout both the greater Miami and campus communities," said Nuñez.
Through his role as co-chair he continues to encourage his colleagues to work with United Way to connect with and elevate their communities. “The University of Miami is the core of our city. When we’re thriving, our surrounding neighborhoods thrive as well,” he said. “It’s my hope that our students, faculty, and staff members will explore the many ways they can create change.”
In addition to his role as co-chair for the LINC Giving Community, Nuñez also serves as the faculty advisor for the University of Miami's Iron Arrow Society, vice chair for community affairs on the executive committee for the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of Leadership Miami.
