On April 12, faculty and staff members on the Coral Gables and Marine Campuses will lose access to the SecureCanes wireless network. ’Canes affected are encouraged to connect to the new employee dedicated network UMiamiWireless. UHealth and Miller School of Medicine employees can continue to use SecureCanes. Follow these steps to connect to UMiamiWireless.

Enroll your child in the Mini ’Canes summer camp.
Priority registration is open.
Faculty and staff members have priority enrollment in the Mini ’Canes Camp. The summer program accepts children ages 612 and teaches the importance of developing lifelong sports and recreational skills, all while having fun. Mini ’Canes Camp is divided into four two-week sessions from June 12 to August 4. Current Herbert Wellness Center members save $50 on each two-week session. Bring your gardening skills to the arboretum.
Wednesday, March 8, at 4 p.m.
The Sustainability Garden in the John C. Gifford Arboretum invites all ’Canes to work together in maintaining the thriving garden. Volunteers will learn to inspect and nurture the area by removing weeds and applying soil and mulch where needed. Employees enrolled in the Well ’Canes Incentives program may be eligible to earn points by attending a session. Sign up today.

Nominate a faculty member for the Provost’s Teaching Awards.
Deadline is Friday, March 10.
The provost’s office is accepting nominations for five distinct awards that honor exceptional forms of teaching within an academic year. One award is expected to be provided for each category. All full-time faculty members are eligible for these awards. Nominations may be submitted by faculty or staff members, undergraduate or graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars. Once nominators complete an online form, the nominee will be asked to accept the nomination and provide additional information to the selection committee. Learn more about the awards.
