In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, the University community is invited to participate in Denim Day. On April 26, millions of people across the world will wear denim in support of survivors and the global education on sexual violence. This initiative encourages ’Canes to post #DenimDay photos on social media to create awareness and spread educational resources. Submit your #DenimDay photos to be featured on @LifeAtTheU Instagram.

Develop your negotiation skills.
Thursday, April 27, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Learn how to negotiate with Dr. Beth Fisher-Yoshida, professor of negotiation and conflict resolution at Columbia University. This meeting will discuss basic framing of negotiation and tips on how to develop more self-awareness in preparing for future negotiations. Register.

Gain perspective into the immigrant experience.
Thursday, April 27 until Saturday, April 29.
The Passport Project is an immersive theatrical event that allows audience members to experience the stories of immigrants in the 21st century. The stories are based on real events from a collection of interviews conducted over a three-year period. The event is free and presented through a partnership with the University of Miami Department of Theatre Arts and the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs. Reserve your free tickets.

Improve your cooking skills with Chef Alain Lemaire.
Tuesday, May 2, at 4 p.m.
Celebrate Haitian Heritage Month with award-winner Chef Alain Lemaire. Participants of this virtual event will receive recipes ahead of the session and are encouraged to cook along with Chef Lemaire and explore Haiti’s vibrant culture through conversation and food. Explore the fundamentals of mindfulness.
Wednesday, May 3, at 4 p.m.
