’Canes can now access artificial intelligence tools using their University email address. Faculty and staff members have access to Bing Chat Enterprise, a tool to quickly generate content, analyze or compare data, summarize documents, and more. All ’Canes have access to Adobe Firefly, a visual creation tool with generative fill, text-to-image, text effects, and more capabilities. Learn more about generative artificial intelligence benefits and risks, and consider joining an upcoming information session hosted by the Platform for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Attend a financial literacy workshop.
Wednesday, Sept. 27, at noon.
In a recent annual report by the University of Miami Money Management Program, it was stated that economic security and health care were tied to the biggest challenges facing women in Florida. Join the University’s Women’s Commission as they address these obstacles. Attend the workshop.

Participate in the 2023 Faculty Showcase.
Deadline is Friday, Sept. 29.
The Faculty Showcase is an annual gathering where faculty members can share, network, and discover new ways to enrich their students’ experience through innovative pedagogies and learning technologies. This year’s event will include a panel conversation about teaching with artificial intelligence, an opportunity for faculty members to showcase their pedagogy, and more. Hosted by the Platform for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, the showcase will take place on Friday, Nov. 3, at the Lakeside Village Expo Center. Faculty members are encouraged to submit a proposal by Friday, Sept. 29.

Dolphins Challenge Cancer is a family-friendly team fundraising event that provides critical philanthropic support to the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Participants can opt for a run, walk, cycle, or even virtual challenge. ’Canes who register before Friday, Sept. 30, receive a $50 contribution toward their fundraising goal. Explore how to better support and connect with students.
Thursday, October 5, at 3:30 p.m.
Part of the Career Champions Network, this session will prepare faculty and staff members interested in becoming a Career Champion to better guide students on their career goals. Offered by the Toppel Career Center, Champions must complete two collaborative sessions centered on educational framework, technology, and mentorship. ’Canes who wish to join the network must complete the interest form or email Carly Smith for more information.
