Keynote speaker Betsy Barre, executive director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching at Wake Forest University, will explore the role of artificial intelligence in the classroom, and a panel of University faculty members will also discuss teaching with artificial intelligence. The event takes place at the Lakeside Village Expo Center on the Coral Gables Campus and is presented by the University’s Platform for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. The Osher Collaborative invites ’Canes to the Longevity and Healthy Aging Virtual Symposium. Conference attendees will learn what science says about the aging process, gain insights into the social and economic impacts on longevity, receive practical nutrition advice, and more. The Climate Café Series is designed to be an informative, casual gathering that encourages conversations focused on groundbreaking climate science. The second event of the series will discuss the state of the Florida current, its impact on South Florida, and how to adapt to changes in rainfall, hurricanes, and flooding. Students and faculty and staff members can nominate a faculty member for the 2024 Provost Awards in the categories of Faculty Excellence and Impact and Teaching. ’Canes from around the University are encouraged to submit a nominee’s biography and a written statement describing their reason for nominating.
