Celebrating fellow ’Canes
Nancy Ryan, senior executive assistant for Student Affairs, celebrated 45 years of service at the University of Miami.

For the fourth year, the University of Miami hosted the Long Service Awards celebration to honor faculty and staff members who reached a career milestone of 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 55 years with the institution. During the virtual event, honorees were joined by University President Julio Frenk, Board of Trustees Chair Laurie Silvers, senior leaders, colleagues, and guests to acknowledge their work.

“Throughout your exceptional years of service, you have touched the lives of countless students, peers, alumni, and patients at the U. And I’m sure that you have all made many fond memories while doing it,” said Frenk. “One of the things I enjoy most about this event is the opportunity to hear about the impact that each of you has made over the years.”

The event honored nearly 280 faculty and staff members from across all campuses and satellite locations, some of whom began their time at the University more than 50 years ago.

“It is clear that we are recognizing an amazing group of individuals today, and I feel confident in saying that you have all been an essential part of our organization’s journey and success,” said Alison Mincey, senior vice president and chief human resources officer.
