While they may be legal in your home state, that doesn’t mean fireworks are necessarily safe for you and your kids. More than 9,000 fireworks injuries—many of which are to young people— happen each year in the U.S. On average in the month of July, 230 people visit the ER every day with fireworks-related injuries. If you choose to light them at home, be sure to know how to properly prepare, handle, and dispose of fireworks, including sparklers.
